Abstract
The strength of grasping responses was stronger for the right hand tha n for the left hand in 13 chimpanzees of mean age 14.8 days. This find ing demonstrates that lateralization is present in neonate chimpanzees and suggests some evolutionary links between lateralization in apes a nd humans.
