L. Salminen et al., CORNEAL VASCULARIZATION AND OPACIFICATION DURING LONG-TERM USE OF DIPIVEFRIN, Journal of ocular pharmacology and therapeutics, 11(1), 1995, pp. 37-40
Dipivefrin hydrochloride is a lipophilic prodrug for epinephrine hydro
chloride, allowing lower concentration of the drug to achieve the same
intraocular pressure lowering effect and having also less harmful eff
ects than epinephrine hydrochloride. However, harmful effects have bee
n associated also with the use of dipivefrin and here we report of a c
ase of corneal vascularization during long-term use of dipivefrin.
