D. Tangliu et al., AVAILABILITY OF 0.3-PERCENT OFLOXACIN OINTMENT AND SOLUTION IN HUMAN CONJUNCTIVA AND AQUEOUS-HUMOR, Journal of ocular pharmacology and therapeutics, 11(1), 1995, pp. 57-63
Ofloxacin 0.3% ophthalmic solution or ointment was administered preope
ratively to 13 patients undergoing cataract surgery. Mean drug concent
rations in conjunctival biopsies were 2.62 and 6.55 mu g/gm and in aqu
eous humor samples were 0.36 mu g/mL and 0.43 mu g/mL, for ointment an
d solution respectively. Mean conjunctival concentrations of ofloxacin
achieved MIC(90) values for 419 gram-positive and gram-negative organ
isms previously analyzed.
