Abstract
Organ samples of 504 ibex from the Swiss canton of Graubunden were ana lyzed for their concentrations of lead, cadmium, and mercury. The anim als came from different colonies in this canton, and were all shot dur ing the period 1983-1991. Anthropogenic lead and cadmium concentration could be established particularly among the animals in the colony of Albris. Seasonal differences in concentration were observed for the co ncentrations of lead and mercury, while age significantly influenced t he content of cadmium.
