Abstract
Chagas' disease is endemic in South America, affecting several million people(1). Megacolon, the commonest intestinal manifestation, causes severe constipation and usually requires surgery(1-3). We report a cas e which was treated by restorative proctocolectomy. We believe this to be a useful new technique in the treatment of this condition.
