Abstract
Quantitative risk assessment is comprised of the following steps: iden tification, consequence analysis, probability estimation, consideratio n of mitigation measures, as well as judging the outcome against certa in criteria of tolerability. The first two steps are showing an increa se in acceptability; the rest remain the center of controversy.
