Abstract
Synthesis of new cyanoethylated compounds and carboxylic acids derived from sucrose, methyl D-glucopyranoside, methyl D-fructopyranoside and methyl D-fructofuranoside are described. Basic hydrolysis of these cy anoethylated compounds to the corresponding amides and carboxylates an d acidic alcoholysis to the corresponding methyl esters are discussed.
