Abstract
Alterations in the catecholaminergic transmission during Newcastle dis ease virus (NDV) infection was studied in different brain regions of c hick. The results obtained in the present study reveal that the epinep hrine, norepinephrine, dopamine and 5-HT were decreased and monoamineo xidase activity was elevated during both the time periods of infection . The chickens after 72 h infection showed more depletion when compare d to 24 h, indicating that the catecholaminergic activity was impaired during NDV infection.
