P. Deb et al., INVESTIGATION OF THE TEMPORAL-MODULATION OF NANOSECOND REGIME CO2-LASER PULSES BY A CO2 AMPLIFIER, Infrared physics & technology, 36(6), 1995, pp. 1007-1016
The temporal characteristics of amplified nanosecond pulses have been
investigated by computer simulations, as a function of input wavelengt
hs, input pulse shape, pulse width and configuration of the amplifier
itself. It was found that the pulse width and the steepness of the lea
ding edge could be manipulated considerably by varying the above param
eters. The change in the rise time could be varied to around 53%, whil
e the FWHM, that changed by 32% with amplification, could be reduced d
rastically by judiciously choosing the parameters.
