Mam. Gijs et al., PERPENDICULAR GIANT MAGNETORESISTANCE IN MAGNETIC MULTILAYERS DEPOSITED ON GROOVED SUBSTRATES, Journal of magnetism and magnetic materials, 165(1-3), 1997, pp. 17-22
We have deposited Co/Cu magnetic multilayers at an angle onto grooved
InP substrates with 0.2 mu m groove period and measured the giant magn
etoresistance with the current perpendicular to the layer plane. We ha
ve determined as a function of temperature the spin-dependent scatteri
ng parameters due to magnetic bulk and interface scattering, using the
two channel model for electron transport. We find that the decrease o
f the magnetoresistance from 4.2 K to room temperature is mainly due t
o an increase of the Co and Cu bulk resistivities, while the temperatu
re dependence of the interface resistance and of the spin-asymmetry sc
attering parameters is very small.
