The interlayer exchange coupling between ferromagnetic films separated
by a disordered or ordered alloy spacer layer is considered theoretic
ally. This is illustrated by first-principles calculations far fee Co(
001) Alms separated by disordered Cu1-xNix, Cu1-xZnx and Cu1-xAux, and
by ordered CuAu alloys. For the CuAu spacer, the case of partial orde
ring in the alloy is also considered.
