Abstract
Commercial dog food is more and more frequently used as sole diet. The present review characterizes the different types of commercial diets. Principles of bioenergetic allow the calculation of energy density us ing a prediction equation. Energy requirements are also calculated. Pr actical use of industrial dog food are illustrated for growing pups, d ogs at maintenance or in reproduction.
