The straightforward reformulation of special relativistic concepts abo
ut relative observer kinematics in the context of the flat affine geom
etry of Minkowski spacetime, so that they respect the manifold structu
re of that spacetime, allows one to derive the general relativistic 'a
ddition of acceleration law'. This transformation law describes the re
lationship between the relative accelerations of a single test particl
e as seen by two different families of test observers.
