Abstract
A new tetrahydrofuranol lignan, named (-)-parabenzoinol was isolated f rom the fresh leaves of Parabenzoin trilobum Nakai (Lauraceae), and it s structure has been elucidated by X-ray crystalographic analysis. The isomeric properties of the compound in dimethylsulfoxide solution hav e been studied on the basis of H-1 and C-13 NMR spectroscopy.
