Dm. Wei et al., COMPARISON OF BODY-SURFACE POTENTIAL MAPS SIMULATED WITH ISOTROPIC AND ANISOTROPIC COMPUTER HEART MODELS, Journal of electrocardiology, 28(4), 1995, pp. 346-347
Simulated body surface potential maps (SBSPM) with isotropic and aniso
tropic heart models were compared to investigate the effect of myocard
ial anisotropy on body surface electrocardiograms at a whole heart lev
el. Rotative fiber orientations of total 90 degrees was incorporated i
nto an isotropic heart model. The anisotropy of conduction velocity an
d intracellular electric conductivity was included in the simulation.
SBSPM based on epicardial, intramural, and endocardial stimulation sho
w high correlation with fiber orientations. On the other hand, the ani
sotropy cannot be distinguished from the SBSPM in the simulation of no
rmal heart model.
