Abstract
This issue of Neftekhimiya presents papers given at the October 1994 s ession marking the sixtieth anniversary of the A. V. Topchiyev Institu te of Petrochemical Synthesis of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The first paper outlines the part played by prominent scientists in the fo rmation and development of the Institute.
