Abstract
An examination has been made of the results of investigations over man y years on the syntheses of hydrocarbons and oxygen-containing compoun ds from CO and H-2 and from CO, H-2 acid a third component, carried ou t in the Laboratory of Catalytic Synthesis on the basis of carbon oxid es and hydrocarbons. The prospects for the development of research in certain directions are outlined.
