Abstract
Investigation of hairy root culture of Lactuca virosa transformed with Agrobacterium rhizogenes resulted in the isolation of eight sesquiter pene lactones, six of which were glycoside derivatives. In addition, s tigmasterol together with known triterpenes and their acetates were fo und. The compounds were identified by spectroscopic methods.
