Ms. Palacios et al., SPECTROSCOPIC PROPERTIES AND CRYSTAL-STRUCTURE OF AN OXOVANADIUM(V) ALKOXO COMPLEX WITH THE LIGAND - 5-CHLORO-O-HYDROXYACETOPHENONE-SALICYLHYDRAZIDE, Polyhedron, 16(7), 1997, pp. 1143-1147
The preparation and characterization by means of IR and electronic spe
ctroscopies, magnetic measurements and molecular structure by X-ray di
ffraction of a single-crystal are reported for a monomeric oxovanadium
(V) complex: [(VO)-O-v(5Cl-OHA-SHZ)(OCH2CH3)], where (5Cl-OHA-SHZ) is
the dianionic tridentate ONO donor ligand 5-chloro-o-hydroxyacetopheno
ne-salicylhydrazide. The vanadium atom is essentially five coordinate.
Three ONO donor atoms of the (5Cl-OHA-SHZ) ligand and an oxygen atom
from an alkoxide group form a distorted square-pyramidal geometry arou
nd the metal center. The basal coordination plane is formed by three d
onor atoms ONO (a phenolic oxygen, an imine nitrogen and an enolic oxy
gen) from the ligand and an oxygen atom from the alkoxide group. This
structure is compared with the corresponding copper (II) complex with
the same ligand. Copyright (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
