Dl. Long et al., SYNTHESIS AND X-RAY CRYSTAL-STRUCTURE OF A POLYMETALLATE WITH A METAL-COMPLEX CATION AS COUNTER ION, [AG(PPH(3))(4)]2MO6O19-CENTER-DOT-3CH(2)CL(2), Polyhedron, 16(7), 1997, pp. 1259-1261
The reaction of Ag(PPh(3))(2)NO3 and K4Mo(CN)(8) in H2O/CH2Cl2 gave em
ulsion, from which light yellow crystals were obtained. Elemental anal
ysis, IR spectra and X-ray diffraction verified that the compound is a
hexamolybdate with two tetra(triphenylphosphine)silver cations acting
as counter ions, [Ag(PPh(3))(4)]2Mo6O19. 3CH(2)Cl(2). Oxidation of Mo
-IV to Mo-VI took place when Mo(CN)(8)(4-) was hydrolysed. Copyright (
