S. Kannan et al., SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF SULFOXIDE ADDUCTS OF URANYL BIS(BETA-DIKETONATES) - THE CRYSTAL AND MOLECULAR-STRUCTURE OF [UO2(DBM)(2)CENTER-DOT-C6H5CH2SOCH3], Polyhedron, 15(1), 1996, pp. 97-101
The uranyl complexes of the type [UO2(OO)(2) . S] (where OO = thenoylt
rifluoroacetonate ion, [C4H3SCOCHCOCF3](-); dibenzoylmethanate ion, [C
6H5COCH COC6H5](-); S=PhCH(2)SOCH(3), PhSOPh or PhCH(2)SOCH(2)Ph) were
prepared and characterized by elemental analyses, IR, H-1, C-13{H-1}
and F-19{H-1} NMR spectroscopic techniques. The structure of the compl
ex [UO2(DBM)(2) . PhCH(2)SOCH(3)] was solved by a single-crystal X-ray
diffraction method. The structure determination shows that the uraniu
m atom has a pentagonal bipyramidal geometry.
