Electrical and thermal resistance of the split conical thermal contact
s has been investigated as a function of compression force at room and
helium temperatures. It is found that at T = 4.2 K the conductivity o
f the contacts shows a sharp maximum. The appearance of the maximum is
supposed to be connected with a formation of a variety of micropoints
of slipping type through which transport of charges takes place in ba
llistic mode. It is shown that in this case the resistance of the cont
acts may be as high as 0.04 Ohm/CM(2).
