Ep. Gil et al., DETERMINATION OF COPPER IN HUMAN PLASMA BY STRIPPING POTENTIOMETRY ONA MERCURY FILM ELECTRODE IN ETHYLENEDIAMINE MEDIUM, Analytica chimica acta, 315(1-2), 1995, pp. 69-76
The use of ethylenediamine improves the determination of copper by pot
entiometric stripping analysis on a mercury film electrode, with respe
ct to the usual determination method in acidic medium. The influence o
f chemical and methodological parameters is discussed, and the reliabi
lity of the method is checked with certified reference materials. Infl
uence of the acid digestion protocol in open and high pressure closed
vessels is investigated. The method developed has been applied to the
measurement of the copper level in mineralized human plasma samples. T
he results have been compared with those obtained by electrothermal at
omic absorption spectroscopy in a graphite furnace.
