V. Raghavan et al., A DETAILED MORPHOLOGICAL-STUDY ON THE MAGNETIC FINE PARTICLES PRODUCED BY HYDROGEN ABSORPTION DESORPTION PROCESS, Powder technology, 85(1), 1995, pp. 91-94
In this paper, we report a detailed morphological study and analysis p
erformed on finely powdered magnetic alloy based on rare earth-transit
ion metals, produced by hydrogen absorption-desorption cycles. We have
analyzed the morphology of these particles by computing all the requi
red morphological descriptors. The size of these particles ranges from
5 to 40 mu m. The values of the morphological descriptors lie very cl
ose to those corresponding to adipic acid powders produced by comminut
ion which are reported in the literature. The main advantage of the hy
drogen absorption-desorption process over the conventional powder prod
uction route (ball milling) is that the particles do not undergo oxida
tion.
