S. Webster et Di. Bower, THE EFFECT OF HYDROSTATIC-PRESSURE ON THE POSITION OF THE 1616CM(-1) RAMAN LINE OF POLY(ETHYLENE-TEREPHTHALATE), Polymer, 36(22), 1995, pp. 4351-4353
The effect of hydrostatic pressures up to 500 MPa on the position of t
he 1616cm(-1) Raman line of amorphous, randomly oriented poly(ethylene
terephthalate) has been studied. The shift varies linearly with press
ure, with a sensitivity of 5.6+/-0.3cm(-1) GPa(-1). This value is in e
xcellent agreement with the value of 6.4+/-1.4 cm(-1) GPa(-1) recently
deduced from measurements of the sensitivity of the position to tensi
le stress for four combinations of polarization directions of incident
and scattered light.
