Abstract
Human immunodeficiency virus HIV dementia is characterized by cognitiv e, motor, and behavioral abnormalities that develop over weeks or mont hs. Fulminant presentations are not well described in the literature. In this report we describe a patient with HIV dementia who presented w ith acute changes in mental status that occurred over 2 days, resultin g in rapid deterioration and death in 1 month.
