T. Pagnier et al., CHANGES IN THE RAMAN-SPECTRUM OF C-60 THIN-FILMS INDUCED BY LASER ANDHEATING, Journal of physics and chemistry of solids, 58(2), 1997, pp. 185-194
The changes in the Raman spectrum of thin films of C-60 deposited on b
eta-alumina substrates were investigated as a function of temperature
and of laser power in micro and macro Raman configuration. A large dec
rease in the A(g) modes intensity is observed when temperature or lase
r power are increased. For low A(g) pinch mode intensity, a new peak b
ecomes visible at about 1456 cm(-1). When taking into account the temp
erature rise due to the laser beam, the intensity decrease of the Ag m
odes can be explained in terms of thermal effects. The spectral change
s occurring between 40 degrees C and 100 degrees C are likely associat
ed with a structural change. The thermal conductivity of the C-60 film
is estimated. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Limited. All rights reserved.
