Abstract
Using data from an experiment in controlled environment cabinets, with temperatures between 7 degrees C and 23 degrees C, a model of vernali zation was developed which predicts the change in apex diameter of cal abrese with temperature. The model does not include a juvenile phase a nd the rate of diameter growth is maximal at 15.8 degrees C. When test ed on field-grown crops of two cultivars, the model described apex exp ansion well.
