Abstract
Alkynylcarbene complexes, (CO)(5)M=C(OEt)-C=CPh 4 (M = Cr, W), react w ith cyclic enamines, similar to CH=C(NR(2))similar to 7, 9, 11 and 13 (NR(2) = NMe(2), pyrrolidine), to afford cyclopentadiene annulation pr oducts 8, 10, 12 and 14 by an overall [3 + 2] cycloaddition.
