Abstract
Pauson-Khand reactions between alkynehexacarbonyl-dicobalt complexes a nd ethylene are promoted by trimethylamine N-oxide. The carefully opti mised mild reaction conditions at either moderate or atmospheric press ures of ethylene provide convenient and effective methods for the synt hesis of cyclopentenones by this organometallic technique.
