Abstract
The first example of an asymmetric version of the Pauson-Khand cyclisa tion promoted solely by a chiral amine N-oxide, brucine N-oxide, is re ported. This amine N-oxide has been utilised in the Pauson-Khand annul ation to give excellent yields and good enantiomeric excesses of cyclo pentenone at low temperature.
