ANEURYSMS OF THE DIGITAL ARTERY - A REVIEW AND REPORT OF 3 CASES

Aneurysms of the digital artery are rare, Since 1980, we have treated three traumatic aneurysms of the digital artery. There were two lesion s of the common palmar digital artery and one of the ulnar pollicis ar tery. One case was caused by a traumatic laceration with a kitchen kni fe, and two cases were caused by repetitive microtrauma, On histologic examination, there were two true aneurysms and one false aneurysm, Tw o cases were treated by excision only, and one case was treated by exc ision and reanastomosis, The operating microscope was useful during ne urolysis, excision of the aneurysm, and vascular anastomosis.
