Stomach cancer is extremely rare during pregnancy. Only 61 cases have
been reported from Japan (1) and two from Germany (2). The diagnosis i
s usually delayed because symptoms are attributed to the effects of pr
egnancy (3). The prognosis is generally grave. Here we describe a case
of carcinoma of the stomach complicating pregnancy that was diagnosed
early with curative resection performed. The patient remained disease
free for 34 months, up to the preparation of this article. Her baby a
lso developed normally.
