Abstract
Collagenous colitis is a disease of unknown etiology characterized by diarrhea that responds poorly to conventional antidiarrheal therapy or therapy for inflammatory bowel disease. Octreotide is recognized as a treatment of diarrhea of varying causes, but we could find no previou s reports of its use in collagenous colitis. We therefore report a sev ere case of collagenous colitis that responded to regular subcutaneous octreotide therapy.
