Jb. Bederson et Mb. Eisenberg, RESECTION AND REPLACEMENT OF THE SUPERIOR SAGITTAL SINUS FOR TREATMENT OF A PARASAGITTAL MENINGIOMA - TECHNICAL CASE-REPORT, Neurosurgery, 37(5), 1995, pp. 1015-1018
WE REPORT A case of the complete resection of a parasagittal meningiom
a, including an 8-cm length of the superior sagittal sinus and adjacen
t dura. Flow through the sagittal sinus was reestablished through an i
nterposed saphenous vein graft. Intraoperative angiography confirmed i
mmediate patency of the graft, as did delayed angiography performed at
8 days. Follow-up magnetic resonance angiography 9 months after surge
ry demonstrated continued patency of the graft. Sagittal sinus replace
ment with a vein graft can be safely performed during Simpson Grade I
resection of parasagittal meningiomas.
