e most common intentions is to apprise events, persons and their actio
ns. Conflict communications are characterized by negative evaluation o
f the opponents and positive evaluation - of ownself and one's support
ers. The types of mental <<cliches>> that appear in such a communicati
on are pointed out. A simple method for quantitative evaluation of app
reciative function is offered; the latter can be traced not only in co
ntemporary discussions, but in those of almost a century ago: it shows
universal character of the phenomenon.
