IMPACT OF DISSOCIATION ON THE VISCOSITY OF GASES

Rigorous numerical analysis published in an earlier work [S. H. Rang a nd J. A. Kunc, Phys. Rev. A 44, 3596 (1991)] has shown that the viscos ity-temperature dependence of dissociating iodine vapor can have a neg ative slope. In this work, a general and easy-to-use procedure is pres ented which allows the estimation of the range of physical conditions under which such a negative slope can occur in other dissociating diat omic gases.
