Abstract
Ceramic roof tiles exfoliated in a marine environment. In simulated te st conditions, the following mechanisms became apparent: the hematite phase dissolved in salt solution and formed other species; the dissolu tion-reprecipitation process advanced to the inferior of the tile and led to its degradation.
