NEONPONTONIDES-HENRYVONPRAHLI, A NEW SPEC IES OF PONTONID SHRIMP FROMTHE PACIFIC OF COLOMBIA (DECAPODA, PALAEMONIDAE) SYMBIONT ON MURICEA-ROBUSTA AND LOPHOGORGIA-ALBA

A new species of pontonnine shrimp, Neopontonides henryvonprahli, is d escribed. The new species lives symbiotically with the gorgonians Muri cea robusta and Lophogorgia alba, in shallow waters of the Pacific coa st of Colombia. N. dentiger was also found on M. robusta, but not on L . alba. The new species can be distinguished from all known species of Neopontonides by the well marked angulation of the supraorbital margi n.
