H. Haouet et al., EVOLUTION OF AN EXTENSIVE SUPERFICIAL DER MATOPHYTOSIS TO A DEEP DERMATOPHYTOSIS, Journal de mycologie medicale, 5(3), 1995, pp. 184-187
The authors report the case of a fourty-five-years-old woman who compl
ains since her childhood of an extensive superficial dermatophytosis.
Mycologic exams showed Trichophyton violaceum. Immunologic tests showe
d cellular immunodeficiency. Therapeutic attempts including griseofulv
in, ketoconazole and itraconazole failed to avoid the evolution to dee
p dermatophytosis. Indeed, in 1994, nodular lesions appeared in axilla
r folds. Histologic exams showed mycotic granuloma. There is no majora
tion of the immunodeficiency-state. A therapeutic assay with terbinafi
ne is Started since November 1994.
