Abstract
Thirteen strains of Enterococcus faecalis and five strains of E. faeci um isolated from foods were studied. Production of thermonuclease (TNa se), hemolytic activity on human and rabbit blood and susceptibility t o antimicrobial agents were analyzed. Only one strain was beta-hemolys is positive. No production of TNase and beta-lactamase or resistance t o vancomycin and to high levels of aminoglycosides (HLAR) were detecte d.
