NEW HETEROPOLYOXOTUNGSTATE CONTAINING RH(III) AND NI(II) .1. PREPARATION AND CHARACTERIZATION BY SOLID-PHASE STUDIES

The present paper reports the obtaining of a new heteropolyanion, [Ni( H2O)-Rh W11O30](7-), isolated as Na+, K+, NH4+, Tl+, Br2+, guanidinium , o-oxyquinolinium, and pyridinium salts. The characterization of the heteropolytungstate anion containing Rh(III) and NI(II) was carried ou t by chemical analysis of the salts and by the IR absorption spectra o f the Na+, K+ and NH4+ salts. A crystallographic study of the same thr ee salts bg S-ray powder diffraction as well as by recording diffuse-r eflectance spectra of the K+ and pyridinium salts is also reported. Th ese data support the given formulation of the complex anion.
