The photomineralisation of aqueous 2,4-dichlorophenol at a near-UV-irr
adiated titanium dioxide film has been monitored using an ultramicroel
ectrode stationed at micrometre distances from the film surface. The p
roduction of Cl- can be successfully modelled on the basis of a hetero
geneous process at the TiO2/aqueous interface.
