Mw. Brooks et A. Barros, DETERMINATION OF CARBOSULFAN IN ORANGES BY HIGH-PERFORMANCE LIQUID-CHROMATOGRAPHY WITH POSTCOLUMN FLUORESCENCE, Analyst, 120(10), 1995, pp. 2479-2481
High performance liquid chromatography equipped with post-column fluor
escence derivatization provides an automated and specific analytical m
ethod for pesticide determination. Carbosulfan, a carbamate pesticide,
can be analysed utilizing an existing and proven carbamate system aft
er the addition of one additional hydrolytic reactor in-line, Extracti
on of this compound from citris crops requires careful handling owing
to the volatility and unstable nature of the analyte in acid condition
s. This paper describes the necessary instrument modifications and, pr
esents a method for carbosulfan extraction. Analyses of orange homogen
ates were performed rapidly with recoveries of between 66 and 98% for
residue levels between 0.03 and 0.25 mu g kg(-1).
