Abstract
This research explored gender differences in the etiology and conseque nces of alcohol abuse among older adolescents. No significant differen ces were found in the etiology of alcohol abuse; however, consequences were different for young men and women in three areas. Men were more likely to have neglected duties acid women were more likely to have ex perienced blackouts and to have lost friends as a result of their drin king.
