REMARRIAGE RATES AND SUICIDE AND HOMICIDE IN THE UNITED-STATES

For the American states in 1980, the positive association between suic ide rates and rates of marriage with a divorced bride or groom was str onger than that between suicide rates and rates of marriage with a non divorced bride or groom. However, these latter associations were still positive, though weaker, suggesting that marriage itself may be suici dogenic for American society.
