The problems of calculating ephemerides data for photometric observati
ons of the 1995 - 1996 mutual occultations and eclipses in the system
of Saturn's satellites are considered. Previously published ephemeride
s of these events prove to be insufficient for planning observations.
Simple formulas are given to determine the decline in the total lumino
sity of the pair of satellites during occultation or eclipse from the
ephemerides data published hitherto. It is shown that some of the pred
icted mutual events in the Saturn's satellite system exhibit peculiari
ties that make the ordinary methods of astrometrical interpretation of
photometric data inapplicable.
