The electronic structure of Tl2Ba2CuO6 and Tl2Ba2CaCu2O8 thin films ha
s been investigated by the linearized augmented plane wave method. On
the basis of the results of the energy band structure calculation for
each film, total and local partial densities of electronic states have
been calculated. Also, theoretical calculation of x-lay emission OKal
pha and CuL(alpha) spectra have been performed. Dependence of the elec
tronic structure and x-ray emission spectra on the number of CuO2 laye
rs in the film unit cell is analyzed.
