Abstract
Strains of Aeromonas spp (23) were insolated from five stations (Four of river Narmada and one hand pump water) at Jabalpur. Identification of the strains gave 34.7% A. hyhrophila, 21.7% A. salmonicida, 13% A. veronii, 13% A. punctata, 13% A. liguifaciens and 4.34% A. formicans. The occurrence of Aeromonas Spp were significantly related to water te mperature. River water yielded high number (100 cfu/ml) of predominant ly aerogenic Aeromonads strains.
