Pass rates in courses for vocational (re)schooling of adults are gener
ally low. Lack of mathematical skills is one of the factors that can b
e responsible. To enhance pass rates, most courses supply additional m
athematics schooling. The present study investigated whether the effec
tiveness of additional mathematics schooling can be improved by new ma
terial for the students and interactive teaching. Subjects involved in

knowledge in job-related situations.
